Joining the action for the first time was Australian touring car legend and nine-times Bathurst 1000 winner Peter Brock, who added an international flavour along with Indy 500 winners Johnnie Rutherford, Bobby Unser,Danny Sullivan, Arie Luyendyk, Gil de Ferran and Al Unser Jr. Away from the hillclimb, the dust flew on the new Forest Rally Stage where rallying legends Hannu Mikkola, Sandro Munari and Jean Ragnotti were re-acquainted with the Group B rally cars that made them famous.
